Between eternities
Between eternities,
a state of finite being,
two cells united start dividing,
grow into a living form.
Cell clusters an abode of one,
apart from others
as in cells of isolating prisons,
each alone not knowing why one had become.
All are alike, yet each unique,
dwell in sphere none else can share,
each to own its point of view,
different from all others.
Between eternities
one’s quest to live to die,
be that as virus, fish or tree,
each part of family, as I.
In time with end
however long or short
some hasten to return, or hope
extending lifespan beyond time.
Is life the place to settle score,
as life eternal won’t allow,
a chance to hide from pain in death,
escaping agony to rest?
Perhaps temporal state,
to gain in growth of spirit,
reborn in countless combinations,
until eternal timelessness
abates the need of living.
But die we do still whilst we’re living,
shed and grow in constant change
there can not be eternity
whilst living breast is breathing.
Yet all I am has been before
and will remain thereafter
in timeless transformation
of eternal entity.
